Eyebright is primarily used to treat eye conditions such as conjunctivitis, blepharitis, eye strain, and inflammation, leveraging its anti-inflammatory, astringent, and antioxidant properties


Research indicates that bilberry (specifically its anthocyanins) and ginkgo biloba extract can improve visual function in patients with normal tension glaucoma.  A study of 332 subjects demonstrated that these supplements support eye health by enhancing blood circulation and providing potent antioxidant effects that neutralize free radicals. 

Bilberry contains flavonoid anthocyanins that have a particular affinity for eye and vascular tissues. It is reported to:

  • Improve visual acuity: Anthocyanin treatment improved Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BCVA) and Humphrey Visual Field (HVF) mean deviation. 

  • Protect the retina: It may help slow the progression of nearsightedness and reduce retinal bleeding or scarring associated with diabetes. 

  • Reduce eye strain: Supplementation has been shown to improve eye fatigue and heaviness, particularly from computer use. 

  • Ginkgo biloba extract aids eye health primarily by improving ocular blood flow and dilating blood vessels.  Its benefits include:

  • Supporting normal tension glaucoma: It helps improve visual field deviation in glaucoma patients by addressing vascular insufficiency. 

  • Preventing oxidative damage: It protects retinal photoreceptors from light-induced free radical damage, potentially slowing age-related macular degeneration. 

  • Balancing intraocular pressure: It is noted for supporting balanced eye pressure, which is critical for glaucoma management. 

Vitamins in Clear Sight Formula include 

Vitamin A to assist in the function of eyesight, and a combination of antioxidants including Vitamins C and E to help neutralize free radicals in cells.

Suggested to take in conjunction with the Presbyopia "old eyes" formula if you are 40 and older.  If younger then 40, take this formula as a preventative and to protect your eyes, cells, and muscles associated with vision.

  • Cassiae Semen enhances the eye's accommodative system through parasympathetic activation, improving the ability to focus on near objects.  It also has antioxidant properties and may help lower intraocular pressure, reducing associated discomfort.       
  • Wolfberry (Lycium barbarum) provides sympathetic nervous system support, helps with dry eyes, and contains antioxidants that protect lens clarity and slow cataract formation.
  • Dendrobium huoshanense (DD) inhibits cataract progression by reducing sorbitol and advanced glycation end products (AGEs), while also offering anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits for eye health.

A clinical study found that a combination of these three herbs—200 mg Cassiae Semen, 200 mg wolfberry, and 40 mg DD in a single capsule—led to significant improvements in accommodation amplitude (AA) and near vision, with effects lasting up to three months after treatment stopped.  The success rate was approximately 95% after six months of therapy.  This herbal formulation is considered a promising natural approach for managing presbyopia progression.
