Research indicates that bilberry (specifically its anthocyanins) and ginkgo biloba extract can improve visual function in patients with normal tension glaucoma.  A study of 332 subjects demonstrated that these supplements support eye health by enhancing blood circulation and providing potent antioxidant effects that neutralize free radicals. 

Bilberry contains flavonoid anthocyanins that have a particular affinity for eye and vascular tissues. It is reported to:

  • Improve visual acuity: Anthocyanin treatment improved Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BCVA) and Humphrey Visual Field (HVF) mean deviation. 

  • Protect the retina: It may help slow the progression of nearsightedness and reduce retinal bleeding or scarring associated with diabetes. 

  • Reduce eye strain: Supplementation has been shown to improve eye fatigue and heaviness, particularly from computer use. 

  • Ginkgo biloba extract aids eye health primarily by improving ocular blood flow and dilating blood vessels.  Its benefits include:

  • Supporting normal tension glaucoma: It helps improve visual field deviation in glaucoma patients by addressing vascular insufficiency. 

  • Preventing oxidative damage: It protects retinal photoreceptors from light-induced free radical damage, potentially slowing age-related macular degeneration. 

  • Balancing intraocular pressure: It is noted for supporting balanced eye pressure, which is critical for glaucoma management. 

Vitamins in Clear Sight Formula include
